Problems of promoting employment and adaptation of young people to the labor market (the case of Irkutsk city)

The article describes the main causes of youth unemployment in Russia, emphasizes its features in the new social conditions. The results of the analysis of solving the problems of youth employment in the city of Irkutsk are shown on the example of the OGKU “Center of employment of the population of the city of Irkutsk” for 2016-2018. The work discloses the proportion of the number of young people aged from 16 to 29 years, which is registered in the city employment center from the total number of youth in the city of Irkutsk according to the data of the territorial body of the Federal State Statistics Service in Irkutsk Region for 2014-2017. The dynamics of changes in the number of young people on the main indicators of the employment center from 2016 to 2018 is presented, public services are identified that cover the largest number of unemployed and unemployed youth in the employment center. With the promotion of employment for young people, the following main problems were highlighted: insufficient awareness of young people about the state of the labor market and services provided by the employment service, the choice of the employment service in the last place as a source and method of finding a job due to its unattractive image, lack of a special comprehensive employment assistance program youth in Irkutsk. The author suggests ways to solve youth unemployment in the region, emphasizes continuity and adaptation to Russian conditions of foreign experience in solving youth unemployment problems on the example of Western Europe, the USA, Australia, China.
