Abstract:

The article considers the current issues of combating corruption through the implementation of legal means that are elements of the mechanisms established by the anti-corruption law. Some of these means implemented in Russia and Kazakhstan are compared. The authors prove that Russia and Kazakhstan as states with similar legal systems have significant potential for cooperation in combating corruption. However, this potential is not actively used today. In order to make a difference, the following should be done: 1). joint research on anti-corruption issues; 2). mutual use of positive and negative experience in improving anti-corruption legislation and institutional elements of anti-corruption mechanisms; 3). interstate cooperation, practical implementation of the developed countermeasures in interaction with each other, including interaction between law enforcement bodies of the two countries developing and implementing anti-corruption policy, enforcing anti-corruption legislation. The article outlines some promising areas of such cooperation.
