Abstract:

The article describes the experience of use of generational analysis in sociological research. Using this analysis, an attempt has been made to explore the image of military institution viewed by Irkutsk male population. The article provides the results of sociological study conducted with the help of qualitative research strategies in the survey of representatives of different generations of the population in Irkutsk. We study the vision of the problems of the Armed forces in Russia and the Soviet Union from the point of view of three generations, as well as the complete image of the army built in the minds of different generations under the influence of various historical eras and events.
