Abstract:

The article considers the concept «creative youth» in modern Russian society and the state programs to support talented young people in Saratov region. The author presents the results of research of students’ awareness about the programs, types of support and competitions that are aimed at helping talented youth. Formal survey of students of SSU named after N.G. Chernyshevsky, SSAU named after N.I. Vavilov, SSTU named after Yu.A. Gagarin, PIU of RANEPA named after P.A. Stolypin, SGK named after L.V. Sobinov and SSEI REU named after G.V. Plekhanov, SSLA was held in March 2020. The sample size was 152 students. The practical part of the work has revealed that students from Saratov universities remain insufficiently aware of various competitions to support creative youth. They lack information, its sources. Most of the students have never taken part in competitions aimed at developing their creative potential. Moreover, the study has identified a number of problems, which include: insufficiently good conditions created in universities for the creative development of the individual; decreased participation in programs aimed at helping talented youth due to the difficult combination of the educational process with creative activity. To resolve these issues, the author proposes measures to improve students’ awareness of state support, regional and all-Russian programs and competitions. Conclusions were made that more attention should be paid to Internet advertising, in social networks, as well as in student clubs of universities, since this place is a center for creative youth gathering. Measures must be taken to create conditions for development of creativity. For example, to increase the number of seats (halls, offices), to invite professionals from different fields to give master classes, to share experiences, organize special platforms, courses, which will serve as an incentive for young people to participate in the creative life of the university.
