The Russian Language Enrichment by Calquing English Vocabulary

Abstract:

The article goes into the meaning of the term calquing and highlights four main types of borrowing foreign vocabulary. The topic is relevant as observation of words and phrases borrowing from a foreign language into Russian helps to understand the history of the Russian language of both standard one and dialects. It is concluded that in the era of globalization languages blending is an inevitable process.
