The relationship between value orientations and satisfaction with professional activities of primary school teachers

Abstract:

The problem of completing schools with teachers who love their profession and are competent specialists is acute in modern society. There are endless disputes about what is the basis of motivation of those who have chosen the profession of teacher, what determines the satisfaction with work. In our article, we raise the issue of the relationship between value orientations and job satisfaction. The subject of the study is satisfaction with the professional activity of a primary school teacher, depending on the value orientations of the individual. The study was conducted in various schools in Irkutsk. It was attended by 31 primary school teachers. The aim of the study is to identify the relationship between value orientations and professional satisfaction among primary school teachers. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were put forward: to make a comparison between primary school teachers who are satisfied and dissatisfied with their professional activities, to investigate value orientations, to establish the existing relationships between professional activity satisfaction and value orientations. The study was conducted using standardized methods and questionnaires. The results showed that there is indeed a relationship between job satisfaction and value orientations. The scientific novelty was that the idea of the value orientations of the teacher was supplemented, the relationship of value orientations with job satisfaction was determined. Taking this information into account will be useful when working on the development of the teacher’s personality.
