Features of Voluntary Medical Insurance in Russia

Abstract:

The article elaborates the differences between voluntary medical insurance (DMS) and compulsory medical insurance (OMS), the benefits of voluntary medical insurance (VMI) for medical personnel, medical institutions, insured persons, the main problems, the current state and factors of the development of voluntary medical insurance in our country. It considers the differences between the insurance contract and the related types of contracts. The author provides the results of research aimed at identifying a target group of services consumers for insurers’ orientation when promoting voluntary health insurance among the population.
